It's been a long time since you all read my last post...to be honest,there's no real reason for that,it's just that I have no passion to post.Maybe study pressure has taken it`s toll on me,but to tell the truth,i`m not really studying either..huhu. Today let me tell you something that we always done every time until we din realize we actually did it.It`s mimicry.When we are in a community,we always tend to mimic other`s action,especially the majority,whether we realize it or not.Well,i can`t say there`s anything good or bad with it.I think it`s just our body language to tell that we want to be accepted. And to add more to this fact,i want you all to watch over the older couple who have been married for a long time.Usually they will resemble each other,same smile,same posture,same movement and last but not least,same facial expression.Dat`s because they always try to mimic each other for a very long time till they look same in every way.Maybe this sounds just like an assumption,but you can actually increase relationship with people by mimicking their action concsiously.Just give it a try,it`s worth it. And gud luck to all my MMMC fren who ll take part in UTSAV this week.

I guess it`s still not late for me to give my review about General Election in Malaysia that ended almost a week ago.The result has truly shown that people of Malaysia from all races decided to give a lesson to Barisan Nasional(ruling party) and gave them their worst election result in history. In my opinion,people have been enlightened by the power of internet especially in developed state such as Selangor and Penang because those state have fallen into Barisan Alternatif(opposition).And I believe the younger generation of Malaysian didn`t afraid to express their desire for change openly. But still,I want to wait and see the consequence of this GE,I hope the administration of Malaysia will be more reliable for the people and the representative chosen realy play their part in helping the people who chose them. Good luck to all the representative,remember that you will always be judge by the people.

I`v been back at my hostel since 3 days ago,right now I`m very busy.My new semester will start next week and I`m in the process of moving into a new apartment.So can`t really find time to make a nice article.My trip is great and I`m planning to make a series on this blog about it.Meanwhile,you can view a few pictures on my friendster. Right now I`m always keep myself updated with the news about general election in Malaysia which will be held on 8 March.The current situation seems good for Barisan Alternatif(opposition) compared to a few years back and I really hope the formation of stronger opposition will make sure that the 'check and balance' in my country can be done more efficiently. Lastly,there`s still many people out there especially student who`s I can say has 'ignoranism' syndrome.The excuse such as 'why we need to change?','our country still peacuful,y need to worry','i can eat and sleep well everyday,so y shud i care?' really makes me wonder why the hell we need an election after all.I wonder whether they`re really aware on what really happen around them.Maybe they shud get their ass of from the fantasy of lovey-doveyism,myshoesismostexpensivism,tryingtolookcoolnism, and last but not least ionlywanttoscorehighestinexamism and get a real life by mixing with all walks of life available out there.-Period- p/s:the nice new background as you can see is made by my fren aka roomate,Qamarus,merci beaucoup

Latin..

Well,it seems i delayed my posting again.Last week i started my practical exam and will begin the theory exam this Tuesday.Perhaps this will be my last post before i`m taking a veeery long blog hiatus.I think it will be around a month. I`v been wondering for sometime when i started my medic course,why there`re so many words derived from latin.Is the latin spoken people discover everything about medicine and anatomy first?If it is so,where are those people right now,I don`t know which country consist of people speaking LAtin.After some reading and research,the most satisfactory answer i can get is that latin have become a root for many of world`s languages such as Italian,French and even English.Maybe during Dark Ages or something like that.Need to polish my history knowledge further. Mind Maps

Recently I`v been reading about 'The Mind Map Book' by Tony Buzan and his brother,Barry Buzan.What interest me is not about the mind map itself,but about how the mind works associated with the mind maps.Our memory is actually stored in a neurone which is interconected which other neurone.So with mindmap,we can make the interconnection clearer because we did it on the paper!! I`m not finish reading this book yet nor I want to applied mindmap in my daily life(yeah,i`m a lazyass,even to make a note,i`ll just photostate my frens..keke),but I`m thinking there are many other ways of creating interconnection of the neurone or memory in our brain.I think the same technic is applied with mnemonic.Mnemonic makes your mind link the data you want to memorise with other weird phrase that you easily remembered(ppl said the more awkward the phrase the more u can remember).So the interconnection is more visible. The analogy is when we gained a new knowledge,our mind is creating a new cell in the brain.In the beginning,there`s only a very thin thread between the new cell with other existing cells.By using the techniques like repetition,mnemonic, and mindmap,we are able to add more thread to that new cell which makes it easier to travel to that cell.Thus it`s easier for us to recall the new knowledge we have gained. This is just a few tips.I would like to think that all our brains are the same,the thing that really makes the difference is our way of thinking.

Maal Hijrah

As I stated before that I didn`t celebrate 2008 new year`s eve.I`m waiting for the other new year which is marked as a very important event in Islamic history,known as 'Maal Hijrah'.Hijrah is an Arabian word which means 'Migration'. The story behind Hijrah is the journey of Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) and his followers from Mecca to Medina to escape persecution.And the Second Caliph(Muslim's leader),Umar ibn Al-Khattab using this event as a starting point for Muslim Calendar. Busy Month

The title said it all...though nothing remarkable happen in my life during 2008 new year`s eve(i dun celebrate it),but this January gonna be a very hectic month. a)have to plan for my backpacking trip to the north of India which will begin on 1 February,fortunately got someone who is very helpful and reliable to help me during this trip... b)yes,test n test n test followed by block exam...so expecting the lecturer to increase the intensity n speed of lecture,have to work hard to catch up with that.. c)trying to finish several books that i`v started to read.. can`t wait for February anymore...

Ten Useless Matters Imam Ibn ul Qayyim al Jawziyyah There are ten useless matters: 1.Knowledge that is not acted on 2.The deed that has neither sincerity nor is based on following the righteous examples of others 3.Money that is hoarded, as the owner neither enjoys it during this life nor obtains any reward for it in the Hereafter 4.The heart that is empty of love and longing for Allah, and of seeking closeness to Him 5.A body that does not obey and serve Allah 6.Loving Allah without following His orders or seeking His pleasure 7.Time that is not spent in expiating sins or seizing opportunities to do good 8.A mind that thinks about useless matters 9.Serving those who do not bring you close to Allah, nor benefit you in your life 10.Hoping and fearing whoever is under the authority of Allah and in His hand; while he cannot bring any benefit or harm to himself, nor death, nor life; nor can he resurrect himself. However the greater of these matters are wasting the heart and wasting time. Wasting the heart is done by preferring this worldly life over the Hereafter, and wasting time is done by having incessant hope. Destruction occurs by following one’s desires and having incessant hope, while all goodness is found in following the right path and preparing oneself to meet Allah. How strange it is that when a servant of Allah has a [worldly] problem, he seeks help of Allah, but he never asks Allah to cure his heart before it dies of ignorance, neglect, fulfilling one’s desires and being involved in innovations. Indeed, when the heart dies, he will never feel the significance or impact of his sins.

Our Kurban(sacrifice)

So this year's Eid-ul-Adh,we actually managed to do our own sacrifice.Though not on the day of 10 Zulhijjah(real Eid-ul-Adh day which we only given half day holiday),but the celebration was going very well.After we finished our lecture at 11.30,we went to the senior's house where our 'kandang kambing' is located.The Manipal Masjid's bilal was already there when I arrived.He's the one who did the Kurban.After the Kurban taking place,we were all working together to cook the meal for the dinner.It`s a nice experience especially when you live far away from your country and still managed to do something that you did back home.Here's some picture of the event. Eid-ul-Adh

For the Muslim,there are two main celebration that we celebrate each year which is Eid-Fitri and Eid-Adh.Without realising it,Eid-Adh is coming nearer.As I wrote this article,only 4 more days to go. This day is mainly memorised by the event where prophet Abraham were asked to slaughter his own son,prophet Ishmael by God to examine his faith.Abraham dreamt that he slaughter his own son.When he told about it to Ishmael,Ishmael said he didn`t mind be sacrificed if the order is from God.And then the slaughter took place,but to the amazement,it`s not Ishmael who has been slaughtered,instead God replacing him with a goat. As of now,Muslim still doing this sacrifice by slaughtering animal like cow,camel,goat and distribute it to the neighbour and poor people.Truly,Eid-ul-Adh is celebrated by showing gratefulness to God. p/s:maybe i can`t celebrate it well this year because I heard there`s no holiday for my college.....

In every historical event,there will be some event,people, or organization which is emphasize more than the other.So that next generation will see the one who wrote the history itself as the hero.But for me,the pinnacle of historical event should be when all the truth is exposed.Thats why it`s important to view history from different perception. This time I`m gonna give a review about a documentary on what has happened 10 years before Malaysia`s Independence.The story coming itself from 5 men that involved directly during that event.From what I learn in history subject,there are two movements for independence,which is left and right movement.The right movement surely is UMNO itself and its component but this documentary is all about the left movement.This is what we don`t learn in our history subject.So if u think u r patriotic enough,watch this documentary and think again. A Call for humanity

Lately,there are many social network website grown & millions of people join them for different purposes.People easily put their profile n biodata into such website and hoping someone will read it and interested in them.And this trend also shown by bloggers which mainly posting about their daily routine.Can we say that people have become more open nowadays? Well,everyone have their own definition of privacy.But sumtime we might just over do it and get ourselves into trouble.I`m thinking,don`t they care how people around the world will look at them?Or maybe we are in desperation to get attention that we can get in real life.It` not an accusation though.Just something that we should think about.

Second Wind Energy

Have u ever felt very tired doing works till u wanna give up(maybe doing assignment or studying for exam),but then u just continue it because u had to,then suddenly your body become very energetic again like there`s no tomorrow. U suddenly have the power n energy to continue your work.Have u experienced it?I`m sure almost all ppl have gone through this before.It`s just the matter whether they realize it or not.This phenomena actually is known as 'second wind energy'.It`s like our body need to pass through some barrier before we can achieve a new level of energy storage in our body.But before we can reach 2nd wind energy,we must work hard till we passed out first...then rest for few minutes b4 we continue our job.If u can`t feel that energy yet,it means u still dont reach 2nd wind of energy. You can also feel it during strenuous exercise like marathon or jogging...just jog till ur body cant take it anymore,walk for few minutes,then continue jog..but be sure u have some friends wif u in case u gonna faint..kekeke It`s not really a theory nor have any scientific fact in medical textbook.It`s just maybe a psychological factor still covered by darkness about human potential.I`m telling this just to let u know our limitless human potential created by Almighty God.Do try this at home..hehe...

This is the 4th times in two years I`m moving my blog.Simply because I`m having problem maintaining my website(which i wasted most of my time compared to actual blogging activity).So,i decided to switch back to free blog providing service.I`v lost around 30-40 articles from my previous blog,but it`s not a big deal since they have serve their purpose(i think)... Well..it`v been about 3 months since i wrote my last article..FYI,i`v been moving to india since then to further my study in medical field..things r becoming tougher...till then i decided to resign my parttime job as a webmaster..that`s all for now...

Is Negaraku from a Hawaiian melody?

KLUANG: Is the Negaraku adapted from a Hawaiian melody?

This question stirred in his mind when Mohd Zain Sahadan, 49, heard his son playing a record from his antique collection.

The song, entitled Mamula Moon by Felix Mendelssohn and His Hawaiian Serenaders, carried the melody of the national anthem but had a slower and more romantic beat.

Zain, who works as a junior general administrator with the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan) here, said he felt excited when he heard the tune.

An avid antique collector, he said he had owned the record for more than 10 years without realising the significance of its content.

"I bought it together with 10 other records from an old man for RM500.

"Recently, my son rummaged through my antique collection and played the song on the gramophone.

"Only then did I notice the similarity," he said, adding that he believed the record dated back to the 1940s.

The record showed the name of song, the artiste and also indicated that it was made in England, but there was no mention of the year it was released.

Checks on music websites showed that Felix Mendelssohn and His Hawaiian Serenaders were artistes in the 1940s.

According to www.cduniverse.com, they played Hawaiian-style music, while www. musicweb-international.com described the band's music as "immediately recognisable by its swing, swooning, sensual ethnic style".

This Mendelssohn should not be confused with the 19th century German composer and pianist Felix Mendelssohn.

History has it that the Negaraku was adapted from the state anthem of Perak, which had a similar melody to the keroncong-influenced Terang Bulan, a popular song in the 1930s in Indonesia and Malaya.

It was also a familiar tune in the island of Mahe in the Seychelles where a former Perak Sultan lived in exile. A French band used to play the tune when it performed on the island.

There is, however, no record of the exact origin of the melody.

Some historians believe that a well-known 19th century French poet and composer, Pierre Jean de Beranger, wrote the music.

But there is no reference on any link to the Hawaiian Mamula Moon.

24 Hours As a Servant

I realize that sourrounding by secular environment in Malaysia especially in uptown made Muslim forget about our purpose.We tend to do something out of our selfishness and always ignore the rules by God.The excuse that we always give is that we don`t have time to study religion,to pray,to practice 'Ibadah',et cetera.But we always forgot that Allah never burdened His servant by those kind of things.Only we as a servant assume that as a burden.Actually,if we really want to get Allah`s blessing,we must change our intention of doing things only for Allah.We eat,drive,sleep,work,and everything that we do in life is based on to get blessing from Allah.Not only we are blessed,but for sure we can do something by heart if our only purpose is Allah.We know that Allah know what we are doing and it can become a driving force to us.The end result of what we are doing will be great and we ourselves will be satisfy physically and mentally.

I used to not to play any musical instrument because I think it is useless and will lead me to be bad.But after a deep thought,I realize that even by playing instrument we can get Allah`s blessing especially when our intention is to get people remembering Allah.Yes,if we always looking thing from a bad perspective,surely we will only get the bad outcome.This way of thinking is what the people should change in their life.It`s like when I`m riding a motorcycle,if I joined the 'Mat Rempit' gang I will fall into the bad side and if I use it to go to the mosque then it is a different story.But the most basic is to do everything in our life for Allah`s sake so that it will lead us to the right path.Remember,we are 24/7 servant of Allah.

The Rules That Shape Us

Do you like rule?Have you ever break any rule?Well,if you don`t like rule,think about it again.I`m saying this because whether we are conscious or not,we ourselves have our own set of rules.You don`t believe me?Just think about these,what is your definition of happiness,what makes you feel be respected,what benchmark did you use to know whether you are in stress,what makes you feel that you are intelligent.As far as I`m concern,the answer for all these questions are different for every people.There are people who will feel they are intelligent if only they can get a perfect score in examination,some just easily feel intelligent if they can answer one question.Some of them will feel they are not respected just because someone don`t lower their voice when speaks to them and some didn`t feel that way.Why is this happen?Yes,because we all have different rules in our life.

These rules is determined through our experience and environment whether we realize it or not.Just ask yourself what is your set of rules.And think back what happen if someone else break your rules.Surely you will feel despised and angry at certain times.But think about it again,do someone know they makes us angry because they break our rules?Surely not because as I said earlier we have different rules.So the importance of this topic is to make sure that we can recognize the rules that made up the people around us,so that we can respect it and can adapt our act according to the other people`s rules.In this case we can boost our relationship with other people.

And as you list up your own set of rules,you might found that some of them is unachievable and maybe impossible to happen for example if you want to feel that someone love you,they must kiss you.Haha.Not everybody are gonna want to kiss you,so you will feel that you are not being loved by everybody just because they don`t kiss you.If you find this kind of rule,just change it.Maybe you can change it to 'Anytime people speak to me,I will feel that they care of me'.So you will always feel being loved and taken care of every day.It`s so simple right?You can change your life right now.Only you can decide what kind of life you are gonna live.
